Summary
Most Christians know that Jesus died for their sins. They know they’re saved. They’re glad they’re going to heaven. But then they stall out at the most important question: Now what?
For years, I heard “our purpose is the Great Commission.” Evangelize. Spread the gospel. And that’s true… but most believers don’t actually do it, and even when they try, they’re missing the bigger assignment. The church has produced millions of converts and almost no disciples. We preached salvation and ignored sanctification. We celebrated altar calls and abandoned the long, uncomfortable work of becoming holy.
So today’s episode tackles the real purpose of the Christian life and why most believers are spiritually stagnant. You will see what Jesus actually left us here to do, why most churches never trained us for it, and how Satan distracts Christians more effectively with comfort than with persecution.
Episode Highlights
• Salvation is not the finish line.
The church obsessed over “getting people saved,” not training them to obey Jesus. We emphasized faith alone so much that we now think holiness is “works-based” instead of the result of being born again. We created Christians who love Jesus with zero commitment to transformation.
• Discipleship isn’t a class. It’s a life.
Jesus spent three years walking, eating, correcting, and training His disciples daily. Paul told the church to imitate him. Today we call discipleship a six-week class. That’s why we have a culture of shallow believers, spiritual babies who should’ve been teachers years ago.
• Satan doesn’t need to destroy your life—just distract it.
He knows he can’t unsave believers, so he numbs them. Not usually with persecution, but comfort. Entertainment. Politics. Wealth. Social media. An Instagram life that looks “blessed” while we’re spiritually useless. Prosperity makes Christians fall asleep. Our eyes stay focused on this world instead of eternity.
• We forgot we are servants, not independent contractors.
If Jesus is our King, then we are His servants. Servants don’t build their own agendas and ask God to bless them. Servants take orders. We will give an account for the time, talents, relationships, and life He entrusted to us. Stewardship is not “money management.” It’s managing your life for your Master.
Why You Need This Episode
If you feel spiritually stagnant… if you’re saved but unfocused… if you know Jesus but don’t look like Him… then your problem isn’t lack of passion, motivation, or church attendance. Your problem is unclear purpose. This episode gives you that clarity.
You’ll learn:
- Why spiritual maturity requires other believers.
- How discipleship kills comfort culture.
- Why Christians drown in distraction more than persecution.
- The difference between “being saved” and actually being a follower of Christ.
You’re not here to fit into the world. You’re here to be trained, transformed, and deployed. Not to build a life that looks successful on earth, but to prepare for the next one.
If you’ve been wondering what your life is supposed to look like after salvation, this episode is your wake-up call.
Stay Salty Christians 😉,
